Pregnancy Meditation 5 week course:
Welcome to beginners and more experienced meditators, classes will run for one hour including time for discussion / feedback in addition to meditation practices.

Class Description:
Wk 1 Nourish & Release - Using the breath as a tool for relaxation.  A simple practice to incorporate into your daily life to help manage stress and stressful situations.
Wk 2 Embody - Listening to your body and conveying your needs.  Using movement to increase our awareness of our bodies, whilst also providing a means of self expression.  During pregnancy it is important to take notice of what is happening in the body, what feels good and what doesn't.
Wk 3 Connect - Deepening your relationship with your baby.  We will use a guided visualisation exercise to strengthen the bond you are already building with your baby.
Wk 4 Acceptance - Letting go of perfection and what you cannot control using breath and visualisation.
Wk 5 Wholeness - Experiencing your body, breath and baby as one dynamic whole incorporating all of the meditative practices we have learned over the course.
During the course you will learn how to strengthen your relationship with your body and your baby using the breath, movement, guided visualisation and relaxation.  By the end of the course, you will feel more confident in your natural abilities, more relaxed and prepared for birth.
Course Philosophy:
As a woman, your body is designed to create, nurture and birth - it is your innate ability.  The instinctual area of the brain, together with your natural hormonal cascade works alongside your body to birth your baby.  Mother nature is a genius and in her wisdom she also designed our beautiful babies to deliver safely and joyfully into our arms.  They too are guided by instinct and hormonal messages throughout the birthing process.  With the support and direction from natures intelligence, mother and baby work together as a team continually throughout the pregnancy and the birth.
It is left to us to trust in our abilities and instincts as natural mothers and those of our baby. Sometimes however the stress and challenges of daily life, in addition to our own fears and doubts can reduce that trust, blocking our bodies intelligence and interfering with our natural instinctual process.  Pregnancy meditation classes aim to help you become aware of these fears or blocks and provide you with tools to manage and release them, allowing you to strengthen your belief in yourself and empower your relationship with your body and your baby.  What a wonderful way to support your journey through pregnancy and prepare you for birth and beyond!
More on the facilitator:
A yoga lover and mum to be, Nina was first introduced to meditation as a child, receiving guided visualisations from her mother when she had trouble sleeping.  Of course at the time, Nina had no idea what a profound tool she was being introduced to, or that she would return to this practice in the lead up to her own journey into motherhood.  More recently Nina has gleaned her knowledge and experience of meditation through yoga, Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms movement practice and her own regular meditation practice.
Nina has always had a deep connection to the body learning dance from a young age; she developed an awareness of movement as expression and a tool for processing.  Later on (in 2005) Nina qualified as a massage therapist again deepening her understanding about the body in a holistic way.  It was not until Nina had traveled to the UK that she realised she again needed to learn more about the body and how to support its wellness.  Here, she fueled her interest in healthy eating with studies in naturopathic nutrition and her passion for helping others grew and grew.
On returning to Australia, Nina further explored different meditation techniques and greatly improved her own health and wellness through the benefits of regular practice.   Nina qualified as a Meditation Facilitator through Nature Care College in 2012.  Now in her final year as a student of the Energetic Healing Diploma (also at Nature Care), Nina feels strongly drawn to supporting others through education, self-nourishment and connection.  Nina believes that life is full of unlimited possibilities and hopes to encourage and inspire others to bloom and flourish!
